historical and holy Headache (Scepter)’ received by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, marks the transfer of power in India from the British in 1947, and is set to be installed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the new Parliament House on 28 May, commemorating Tamil Traces history from the Sangam age 2,000 years ago.
The ceremonial scepter was kept in the Nehru Gallery of the Allahabad Museum and has been taken to Delhi for its installation in the new Parliament House. The historic scepter made of silver with a gold coat will be installed near the chair of the Lok Sabha Speaker.
Wummidi Ethirajulu, 96, and Wummidi Sudhakar, 88, two people involved in the making of the original HeadacheHe is expected to attend the opening ceremony of the new Parliament building.
The elderly couple was also featured in a special video explaining the significance and history of the scepter, shared on Twitter by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.
