Udhampur: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that the Jammu and Kashmir administration wants to make the Union Territory a terrorism and corruption-free society.
Addressing the verification-cum-passing out parade of 636 newly recruited Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the Auxiliary Training Center here, Sinha lauded the role of security forces in bravely facing various challenges including infiltration attempts and smuggling. The Lieutenant Governor, who inspected the parade and took the salute of the march past, said that the decades-old mechanism of terrorism needs to be completely dismantled.
“We have continued our efforts to inflict a decisive blow on the corruption, terrorism financing and terror ecosystem to make J&K a developed society, free from corruption and fear. This is our goal,” he said.
Sinha urged the new BSF recruits to live up to the tradition and expectations of the force and the people and perform their duties in a professional manner so that no enemy can violate the country’s borders.

Appreciating the BSF, he said that it is the motto of ‘lifelong duty’ which is the identity card of its personnel. “I am proud to be here among the brave soldiers of the force,” he said.
Recalling the history and its contribution since the formation of BSF, he said that this force has not only played a vital role in the security of the borders, but it has also worked hard to maintain internal security in the country.
Referring to the role of BSF in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that since its formation in 1965, the force has done a commendable job in maintaining peace along the border and assisting the border villagers which deserves praise.
“Whether it is elections to Zilla Vikas Parishad in Kashmir, helping people in the outbreak of COVID-19, thwarting infiltration (by terrorists) or smuggling of arms and drugs, the force comes with great professionalism, devotion, dedication and bravery. performing his duties.
