The Family Man child actor Vedant Sinha: My idol is Hrithik Roshan, will work hard to get a note from him

Child actor Vedant Sinha has a confident quality about himself, much like his character Atharva in The Family Man, and that becomes evident when we get to interact with him after the excellent reception to the new season of the spy based web series which takes them away from the serious nature and theme of global terrorism to which it relates, while adding humour, a singular edge and most importantly innocence.

Now the 12-year-old has been learning dance since the age of two and a half, she has also modeled, learned Judo and Taekwondo and emphasizes that her confidence comes from the fact that she started early in the creative field. Had it. “Before The Family Man, I did Rajma Chawal and a few other short films. I always wanted to be an actor and dancer. My parents encouraged me. A child learns when someone inspires him and for me that person was Hrithik Roshan. Looking back, I would say that I was a very confident kid and did what I wanted to do. Sometimes I get nervous and excited in front of the camera. Earlier, during the auditions, I wondered what would happen if I was not selected for the roles. But I am happy with my achievements and hard work.”

About portraying Atharva, the much-loved character of The Family Man who speaks beyond his age and sparked a meme on social media, Vedant shares, “It’s hard and easy to play this role. was both. He is like me in some ways. This is a very real character. He does a lot of weird and funny things. I also sometimes blackmail my siblings like Atharv. I was asked ‘Where was my father?’ It was difficult to understand such serious scenes. With comedic scenes, you are working with Manoj (Bajpayee) sir and he is a funny person both on and off the sets. In scenes with humour, I follow the director’s brief but the serious tone is more difficult to do. With Manoj sir, we do our lines, rehearse and get the scenes done in one take. We work relatively fast. My family says that Atharv is cuter than me. They find him more interesting and funny.”

Vedant recalls how it was difficult for him to shoot the gun scene in the first season. During a high tension scenario, Atharv is shown searching his father’s secret room and a gun hidden in a cabinet. “It was a real gun, but there was no ammunition. When you get things like this in real form, it makes the scene look realistic. You see I’m about to shoot in my eye and I was so chaste Because I’m alone there. I did a few tricks with the gun and it was really heavy. When I told my father about it he said, ‘What! I thought it was just a prop.'”

Beyond the sets Vedant continues to enjoy life like a normal child. There is some leg pulling between friends in school. “I am not that popular that people click pictures with me. Many people recognize and admire me because of the show. My teachers say that I act very well on camera. Some of my female friends pointed to the ‘Makhanchor’ scene and asked me when did I start abusing? But they all find the character cute and funny. My friends treat me the same way they used to.”

About his other interests, he says, “I am in 8th standard. I love history and geography. In sports I like to watch Parkour, Cricket, American Football and WWE. Roman Reigns is currently my favorite wrestler but ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is my all-time favorite. In Hollywood, I like Will Smith, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson.”

Regarding meeting Hrithik, his idol or receiving a note, Vedant shares, “Once, during the shoot of The Family Man, his unit of Super 30 was also nearby. But I could not meet him. I’d be hard pressed to get a note from him. Maybe he doesn’t even know about me.”
