Mumbai: ‘The Family Man’ actress Priyamani, who played Manoj Bajpayee’s wife in the series, married Mustafa Raj, an event organizer on August 23, 2017. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in front of their loved ones. Though Priyamani and Mustafa are leading a blissful married life, there are reportedly many people who opposed the idea of this inter-caste marriage.
Now, according to the latest report of a leading publication, Mustafa Raj’s first wife Ayesha has alleged that Priyamani’s marriage with Mustafa is ‘illegal’. Ayesha further claimed that Mustafa is not “legally separated” from him and has filed a criminal case against Priyamani and Mustafa over their marriage.
Ayesha told ETimes, ‘Mustafa is still married to me. Mustafa and Priyamani’s marriage is illegal. We didn’t even apply for divorce and while marrying Priyamani, she declared in the court that she was a bachelor. When the publication contacted Mustafa about the update, he was reluctant to let the news unfold and claimed that the allegations against him were “false”. He told the leading publication, “The allegations against me are false. I am paying Ayesha the maintenance of the children regularly. She is just trying to extort money from me.”
Mustafa Raj further revealed that he has been living separately from his first wife Ayesha since 2010 and claimed that they got divorced in the year 2013. He told, “I was married to Priyamani in 2017, why was Ayesha silent for so long?”
Ayesha, who has two kids with Mustafa, clarified and told ETimes, “As a mother of two, what can you do? Somebody tries to resolve it amicably but when it doesn’t work, some steps need to be taken because you don’t want to waste the time he is now using against me. “
Also, when the publication contacted Purnima Bhatia, the lawyer for Mustafa Raj, she said, “Yes, I was handling the matter for Mustafa. Even now, I’m officially on it. As far as the matter is concerned, it is currently under consideration. However, I don’t know whether I will go ahead with this matter or not.”
Meanwhile, speaking on the professional front, Priyamani was last seen starring in ‘The Family Man’. He will next be seen in ‘Maidan’, ‘Virat Parvam’, ‘Cyanide’, ‘Dr. 56’, ‘Quotation Gang’ and ‘Khaimara’.
