“Vijay Chudasama, a resident of Datha village, had eloped with a minor girl on May 31 and a complaint of abduction was lodged with the Data police station. The police got information that Vijay and his girlfriend were living in a field and working as agricultural labourers. The police reached their house late on Friday night and when the frightened youths saw the police, they were scared to be arrested and both decided to end their lives by consuming insecticide. By the time the police could break open the door and enter the room, they took both in critical condition to Jamnagar hospital by paying money. However, the minor girl has already died before consuming the poison.
“Police, however, arrested another youth from Data village, who had also eloped with another minor girl. The four lovebirds had fled on May 30 and the police were on the lookout for them. Both the couples were found from Mota Panchsara village,” said the police.
