The IAS officer who used to walk the dog at Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi has been shifted to Ladakh for misusing the facilities in the sports complex.

Taking action after media reports surfaced that bureaucrats used to walk dogs in the stadium, the MHA issued a transfer order.

“Hours after a news report about misuse of facilities at Thyagaraj Stadium by Sanjeev Khirwar and his wife Rinku Dugga, MHA transferred AGMUT cadre IAS officers Sanjeev Khirwar and Rinku Dugga from Delhi to Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh respectively is,” the MHA order said.

Transfer order of MHA to a bureaucrat for misuse of Thyagaraj Stadium Complex.

The directions came after a media report that Thyagaraj Stadium was being closed earlier than normal for sporting activities so that an IAS officer could take his dog to the facility.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said that Kejriwal has directed all government sports facilities in the city to remain open for sportspersons till 10 pm.

Tagging the report, Sisodia in a tweet said, “News has brought to our notice that some sports facilities are being closed early, causing inconvenience to players to play till late nights. CM @ArvindKejriwal It has been directed that all Delhi government sports facilities will remain open for the players till 10 pm.
