AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal even went as far as to say that the Assam CM should register a case against his Mizoram counterpart. “What wrong has our CM done? With regard to land, they cannot file a case against our CM. AJYCP cannot settle for even an inch of Assam’s land.”
He said that AJYCP will remain on the protest path when the government adopts “anti-people” policies, but their support is with the Assam government on land issues. AJYCP is one of the prominent organizations fighting for the rights of the indigenous people of Assam over their land and resources. Barua blamed successive governments at the Center for allegedly failing to resolve inter-state border disputes between north-eastern states, many of which were carried out from Assam.
