JCO Jaswinder Singh martyred in the terrorist attack in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.

The mortal remains of JCO Jaswinder Singh, who was martyred in the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch, reached his native village Mana Talwandi in Kapurthala district on Wednesday morning. Preparations are on to perform the martyr’s rites with military honors.

As a representative of the Punjab government, Kapurthala DC Deepti Uppal reached Mana Talwandi village early in the morning. Bhulatth MLA Sukhapal Khaira and SGPC chief and Akali leader Jagir Kaur also reached the village and expressed condolences to the family of the martyr. Family and relatives are reaching the brother’s house to express their condolences. The whole village is in mourning.

On Monday, after receiving information about the infiltration of terrorists in Poonch, Jammu, the security forces started the operation. During this, 5 soldiers including an officer were martyred in the firing of the terrorists sitting in the ambush. These included Naib Subedar Jasbinder Singh, Naik Mandeep Singh, Sepoy Gajan Singh, Sepoy Saraj Singh and Sepoy Vaisakh Singh. Martyr Jaswinder Singh was a resident of Mana Talwandi village in Kapurthala district. Jaswinder Singh has two children. Among them are 13-year-old Bikramjit Singh and 11-year-old girl Harnoor Kaur. His mother has been ill for several months. Martyr’s father Captain Harbhajan Singh passed away two months ago from Corona. Jaswinder Singh came to the village for the last time at the time of his father’s illness.

Martyr Jaswinder’s maternal uncle Gurnarinder Singh, who is retired as a Subedar from the Army, said that Jaswinder mostly stayed with him in Nanke. Jaswinder went to the army after seeing his father Captain Harbhajan Singh and him (uncle). In the army, he joined the Sikh regiment 21 years ago. In 2007 too, Jaswinder Singh showed bravery while fighting terrorists, for which he was awarded the Sena Medal.
