11-year-old Rahul (name changed) from Gola Road in Patna used to worry about the weight of his school bag. In the morning and evening carrying a bag of 8 to 9 kg, he would have lost sweat in going to school. Two months ago his neck started feeling stiff due to the weight of the bag. After this, after watching videos on YouTube, he started trying to cure it by practicing yoga at home. The child had done headstand and other exercises for 15 days without any supervision, but his neck became completely crooked.

Like Pushpa Raj of Pushpa film, a crooked student’s neck became a big problem for the family members. From school to the local children also started commenting saying ‘Jhunkega nahi’. Then after one and a half months of treatment at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, the student’s neck is now straight. The treating doctors have made a shocking disclosure, the cases of those who increase the merge in treatment through YouTube videos are increasing rapidly. This story is not just about 11-year-old Rahul, but from house to house. Children are getting addicted to mobiles from a young age.

Children start experimenting with the Internet

Dr Ratnesh Chaudhary, Department of Physiotherapy, IGIMS, says that people are self-medicating by watching videos from YouTube and other mediums. The doctor says that such cases are coming every day, who have lost their health by watching videos.

Dr Ratneshan told that a student preparing for UPSC tried to exercise himself by watching videos from YouTube in back pain. The pain of the student increased so much that even his important examination was missed.

Due to wrong exercise, the back pain increased a lot and then he had to undergo physiotherapy for a week. Dr Ratnesh Chaudhary says that after the cycle of lockdown and online studies, this problem has come in the hands of children due to mobile. The doctors have appealed to the guardians of the children that these days it is summer vacation, at this time do not give mobiles to the children for a long time. Side effects of mobile are increasing, so be careful.

99.9% children are spending two hours on mobile every day

Parents sometimes catch their children to play games and sometimes to save their lives by putting songs or poems on YouTube. This addiction also increases so much that if they do not get mobile then they come to kill or give life. During the Kovid period, it was revealed by the Indian Children’s Academy that 99.9 percent of children under the age of 18 months across the country spend more than two hours on mobile every day. Its adverse effect is on the development and personality of the mind along with the eyes of the children.

Earlier in March, the government told Parliament that 23.8 percent of children in the country use smartphones before going to sleep at night. In the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that 37.15 percent of the children in the country are being affected by smartphones. A decrease in the concentration level of these children has been experienced.

Due to mobile addiction, the world of internet opens in front of them, from where they can take any kind of knowledge. It can be wrong as well as right. Many children watch videos of studies and for many other information. Knowledge from the Internet has no feedback, making it dangerous to rely solely on it.
