The STF of Hisar Police arrested the most wanted Anoop Chanaut from Jind on Saturday. Anoop is accused of raping a girl from West Bengal in the farmers’ movement. The girl was raped on the Tikri border.
STF caught Anoop Chanaut from Jind city. Anoop was living here on rent with the help of his relatives. The police arrested him on Saturday and handed him over to the Bahadurgarh police. A reward of Rs 25,000 has been announced on Anoop.
STF Inspector Bijendra Singh told that Anoop Chanaut raped a girl from West Bengal during the farmers’ agitation. Anoop has a brother-in-law in Hansi. He was hiding in a house in Jind through his brother-in-law. For a long time, Anoop was neither using mobile nor any other electronic device.
STF arrested Anoop on Saturday on the basis of secret information. After this he was handed over to Bahadurgarh Police. A case is registered against him in Bahadurgarh itself. ASI Anoop Singh, Sunit, Satyanarayan and Vikas of STF Jaguar Unit Hisar played an important role in controlling the accused.
The girl had died in the hospital
A girl from West Bengal was taking part in the farmers’ movement. He got corona during the movement itself. He was admitted to the hospital on 26 April 2021 for treatment. There the girl told her father that she had been raped. On 30 April, the girl died in the hospital. After this, the girl’s father lodged a case of rape against 6 people at Bahadurgarh police station. Among them was Anoop Chanaut of Hansi.
