KALYAN: A 33-year-old suspended policeman ended his life by jumping before a local train between Kalyan and Vithalwadi railway stations.
The deceased, identified as Dilip Sakpale, ended his life on Wednesday night at 8.30pm. The constable has suspended 15 days ago from the service. He was posted with Kalyan Government Railway Police (GRP,
Sakpale was addicted to alcohol and would drink heavily day and night. He used to mostly remain absent from duty. The GRP sources said that several times he was found drunk during duty hours. He was suspended for the same reason.
Upon receiving the information, Kalyan GRP hastened to the spot. Later, they sent the body for post mortem at Rukminibai hospital in Kalyan.
Following to incident, the Kalyan GRP have registered an accidental death report and started further investigation.
Sakpale is survived by his wife and a daughter.
