Thane: Six houses damaged by landslide in Kalwa; No casualties Thane News – Times of India

Thane: At least six houses damaged after one in Kalwa landslide early Sunday morning.
A disaster management official said that no one was injured in the incident.
The landslide occurred in the Indira Nagar area, following which huge boulders rolled off a hill in the area. Thane Municipal CorporationHead of Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) Santosh Kadam Said.
As a precautionary measure, residents of 20 to 25 houses in the area were shifted to a civic school in Gholai Nagar, the official said.
A team of local fire brigade and RDMC reached the spot and evacuated six damaged houses.
Further action by the officials is on.
Earlier in July, several people lost their lives in landslides caused by heavy rains in Raigad. Ratnagiri, Pune, Satara and Kolhapur districts.
