Thane: With the arrival of 368 new cases of corona virus in Thane district of Maharashtra, the number of infected people has increased to 5,31,943, an official said on Wednesday.
He said that these new cases came to the fore on Tuesday.
The virus claimed 18 more lives, taking the death toll in Thane to 10,679, he said, adding that the Covid-19 mortality rate in the district is two per cent.
The details of cured and under treatment patients were not made available by the district administration.
Another official said that in neighboring Palghar district, the number of Covid-19 cases has gone up to 1,16,570, while the death toll has gone up to 2,563.
