Thalapathy Vijay’s charitable organisation Vijay Makkal Iyakkam is known to be one of the most socially active non-political organisations in South India. Reports have surfaced that the actor has ordered a women’s team consultation meeting of the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. A consultative meeting of the executives of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam has been ongoing recently.
Actor Vijay has ordered General Secretary Bussi Anand of the movement to hold a consultation with the women’s team executives of the organisation on Saturday.
Expectations are rife that the organisation could turn into a political party soon. Vijay People’s Movement has already contested the local body elections and won more than 100 seats. The actor has been supporting the people’s movement by organising teams and selecting administrators in the manner of political parties in order to further develop it.
A consultative meeting of district women administrators will be held at 10.30 am on Saturday to strengthen the women’s team of the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. As the parliamentary elections are approaching, this announcement is believed to be a big step and part of a bigger strategy.
Earlier, actor Vijay gave scholarships to Tamil Nadu students who secured the top three positions in Class 10 and 12 general examinations in all 234 constituencies. Following this, on the occasion of Kamaraj’s birthday on July 15, educational programs were started in all 234 constituencies on behalf of the Vijay People’s Movement. It is said that up to 84 Payilagams have been opened in Tamil Nadu till now by the Vijay People’s Movement.
On the work front, Vijay’s movie Leo is releasing on October 19. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film also stars Trisha, Arjun, Myshkin, Priya Anand, Gautham Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt and others. While the shooting of the film was completed earlier, actor Sanjay Dutt’s preview video was released and went viral on social media.
