It said the threat alert issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wing of the CTD states that “terrorists are planning to assassinate Imran Khan, for which they have sought assistance from an assassin in Afghanistan”.

The text of the threat warning has been shared with various forums, according to which an Afghan assassin has been given the responsibility of targeting Khan, the paper said.

Quoting a senior police officer, the paper said the CTD had issued an alert on June 18. However, there were orders to keep the threat a secret and prevent it from being leaked on social media.

PTI leaders have recently expressed concern about the threat to Khan’s life and claimed that a targeted killer has been hired to kill him.

On Saturday, PTI leader Fayaz Chauhan said that “some people” have assigned a terrorist the task of killing Khan.

“I have information that some people have ordered terrorist named ‘Kochi’ in Afghanistan to kill PTI President Imran Khan,” the former provincial minister said in a tweet.

Khan, who was ousted from power via a no-confidence motion in April, claims the no-confidence motion against him was the result of a “foreign conspiracy” because of his independent foreign policy and money was being sent from overseas to oust him. power to him. Last month, Khan claimed his life was in danger, after which he recorded a video of the characters behind the “conspiracy” against his government, and if something happens to him, it will be released.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif last month directed the Interior Ministry to provide full security to Khan at his home in Islamabad and during political rallies.
