Terrorists attack BSF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam; shelling going on
An encounter broke out between terrorists and security personnel on Thursday after militants opened fire on a Border Security Force (BSF) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
He said the convoy was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar when it was attacked.
“Terrorists opened fire on a BSF convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Malpora in Qazigund area of Kulgam district,” an official said.
A police spokesman said no one was reported injured in the attack but the attackers were trapped.
Kashmir Zone Police quoted IGP, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar as saying, “Terrorists fired at a BSF vehicle at NHW Kulgam. No casualties. However, the terrorists got trapped.”
The spokesman said that security forces have reached the spot and senior officers of police, CRPF and army are also present there.
