A terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday. Acting on specific information about the presence of terrorists in Kilbal area of South Kashmir district, security forces launched a cordon and search operation there, a police official said.
He said that when the security forces were conducting searches in the area, the terrorists opened fire on them. The forces retaliated and an encounter broke out, the official said, adding that one terrorist was killed.
He said the identity and group affiliation of the slain ultras is being ascertained. The operation is on, the official said.
