Lone was taken to the hospital in an injured condition. There the doctors declared him brought dead. Police have cordoned off the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the terrorists. Kashmir Zone Police gave this information on social media. Lone was the president of the local taxi stand.

Kashmiri Pandit Makhanlal Bindru was the owner of the most famous pharmacy in Srinagar. A police officer said that 68-year-old Bindru was shot by the assailants at his pharmacy. He was among the few in the community who did not go out at the start of the insurgency in 1990. Since then he was handling the business with his wife.

His pharmacy for medicines had become a trusted name in the city. He had a shop named Bindru Health Zone near Iqbal Park. Bullets were fired on Bindru in his pharmacy itself. He was taken to the hospital. There he died.

Political parties condemned the murder
The BJP has condemned the killing of Bindru. Party spokesperson Altaf Thakur said that he was a helpful and calm person. He always helped the poor. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said what a terrible news! He was a very kind person. I am told that he did not leave his home even during the peak days of militancy. I strongly condemn this murder. My condolences to his family. May God rest his soul.

People’s Conference chief Sajjad Lone also condemned the killing of Bindru. Lone said that I knew Bindru personally. Attacking them cannot be tolerated. He never left the valley. The terrorists have recovered the price for this. CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami said he had no words to condemn such a heinous and shameful act.
