Nandamuri Balakrishna pays tribute to Telugu filmmaker Sarathi

In a tragic situation, veteran Telugu film director Sarath passed away at his home on Friday morning. His last rites will be performed on Saturday at Vaikuntha Mahaprasthanam in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. Sarath, who made his directorial debut in 1986 with Chadastapu Mogudu, was battling cancer for a few months. production house Sridevi Films paid tribute to Sarath and wrote, “Rest in peace #SarathGaru. Our sincere condolences and prayers to his family. I am indebted to him for giving us a blockbuster hit ‘Vamasanikokkadu’.”

Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna expressed grief over Sarath’s death and released an official statement, “Sarath was a good friend of mine. He made a name for himself in the film industry as a good man. I worked with Vamshanikokkadu, Peddanayaya, Sultan and Vamshodharakudu. Did him. The news of his passing today leaves me in grief. We have lost a good man. May his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to his family.”

Film director Srinu Vaitla also tweeted, “Deeply saddened by the passing of a very successful director Shri Sarath Garu. I am fortunate to have known him closely. A great human being with an everlasting smile!!! He always created the atmosphere .Very positive. Om Shanti.”

Sarath mainly worked with actors Nandamuri Balakrishna and Suman. He gave some blockbuster hits, including Vamshanikokkadu, Sultan, Peddanaya and Vamshodharakudu. He directed Suman in the films Bava Bavamaridi, Peddinthi Alludu and Chinna Alludu.
