Actor Suriya is a major star in the South film industry. Although he mostly acts in Tamil films, the actor has a strong fan following among Telugu audiences, as seen by the success of his previous several films. Now, he is gearing up to be back in the theaters with Atharakkum Thunindhavan, after two thumping successes in OTT with Soorarai Potru and Jai Bheem. He had recently come to Hyderabad for the film’s pre-release event on March 4.
At the pre-release event, Suriya while addressing the audience said, “The way you celebrate Telugu films, even we, other industries, get the confidence to make and release films.”
Director and screenwriter Boyapati Srinu, who graced the event as a special guest, reacted saying that Telugu audiences see Suriya and Rajinikanth as one of their own rather than Tamil heroes.
Boyapati added, “Suriya and I will totally collaborate on a project. I can’t predict when, but we will definitely work together.”
Boyapati has been trying to work on a project with Suriya for a long time and is unable to do so. However, he seems hopeful about starting a project sooner or later.
Etharkakam Thuninthavan is presented as a complete family entertainer with a rural setting. In this upcoming film, Suriya will be seen in his iconic action avatar.
After this film, Suriya will be seen in R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. In the film, R Madhavan will play the role of the acclaimed former scientist, Nambi Narayanan.
Atharakkum Thunindhavan will hit the theaters on March 10. Helmed by Pandiraj, the film is bankrolled by Kalanidhi Maran of Sun TV Group.
The film also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan in the lead role along with Suriya. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Vinay Rai, Devdarshini, MS Bhaskar and Harish Peradi in supporting roles.
