WhatsApp’s popular rival Telegram has rolled out a new update that comes with a feature that will allow up to 1000 people to watch anything at once. Wire has also stated that it will raise the limit for “…until all humans on Earth can join a group call…”
What do rivals offer
Zoom supports up to 100 participants in its free and basic plans. Microsoft’s Skype Provides support for 50 participants while teams normally allow up to 100 participants and expanded support to 300 during the pandemic. google meet Allows up to 100 people to join a video call at once, while its dedicated video calling app, google duo Allows up to 32 participants.
Other New Telegram Features
In addition to supporting allowing up to 1000 people to watch anything at once, Telegram will also allow its users to send video messages at higher resolutions.
The media player in the app will come with support for changing the playback speed and changing it from 0.5x, 1.5x and 2x. Screen sharing has also been added for one-on-one video calls, along with auto-deleting messages after a month.
