Telangana schools shutdown extended till this date due to heavy rains

Hyderabad: With heavy rain forecast for the next three days in the state as well as incessant rains and floods in many parts of Telangana, the state government has announced that educational institutions in the state will remain closed this week. They will reopen on Monday. The decision was taken during a meeting convened by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday afternoon, which was attended by Education Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy and Education Department Secretary V Karuna among others.

In Hyderabad, the IMD has issued a flash flood alert for North Telangana with moderate to high risk in districts like Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Jaishankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu till Monday morning. For the safety of students, teachers and school staff, a holiday has been declared for schools and colleges in Telangana till July 18, 2022.
