Telangana government extends holidays for schools, colleges till January 30

The state cabinet meeting will be chaired by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao here on Monday while the state government on Sunday extended the holiday for all educational institutions till January 30 in view of the rise in COVID-19 cases. “A meeting of the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, will be held on Monday at Pragati Bhavan (Rao’s official residence complex-cum-camp office),” an official release said.

Coronavirus and other issues will be discussed in the cabinet meeting. In view of the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country and the state, the government has decided to extend the holidays till January 30 as per the directions of all educational institutions-private, aided and government, except medical colleges in the state. Chief Minister, it said. Earlier, the state government had declared a holiday in all educational institutions from January 8 to January 16.
