Telangana Congress launches village-connect campaign in Munugode | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress leaders have started sleeping in the villages and tandas to connect with the people in the by-poll bound Munugode assembly constituency.
The idea is to tell the people that they are one among them and to also know the problems being faced by them on the ground level. To start with, Telangana Congress senior vice-president Mallu Ravi spent two nights in Ramdas Tanda of Nampally mandal in Munugode constituency from Saturday.
He has been interacting with the villagers and distributing pamphlets and stickers having details of empty promises made by TRS and BJP governments. More senior leaders will follow suit soon.
“There is a huge response from the people. They are inviting us for tea, lunch and dinner in their respective homes. We are having campaign meetings with small groups of villages in verandahs, under the trees and other places while having tea in the morning and over luncheon,” Mallu Ravi told TOI.
Other senior leaders of the Congress are trying to hire a house or two in villages and mandals to stay put in the by-poll constituency. “There are people who are angry over Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy leaving the Congress and joining the BJP. While many of them are agreeing that he has gone into the saffron party for money, others are abusing village-level leaders who took money and followed him into the BJP. You don’t even need to tell them as voters are aware of what is happening in state politics,” said another Congress leader accompanying Mallu Ravi.
