Telangana: CBI should conduct searches at Pragathi Bhavan, says Congress MP Revanth Reddy | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government ensure that the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and income tax teams conduct searches in Pragathi Bhavan to gather evidence in the alleged liquor scam and other corruption charges.
Stating that the Congress will not trust the BJP unless central investigative agencies raided Pragathi Bhavan, which is the camp office-cum-official residence of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Revanth alleged that the roots are in Pragathi Bhavan for any deal, right from engineering the defection of MLCs and MLAs from other parties into the ruling TRS to the liquor scam that broke out in Delhi.
“The central investigative agencies are likely to get tonnes of documents if they conduct searches in Pragathi Bhavan. An inquiry should be conducted against 34 MLAs, MLCs and MPs among others who had joined the TRS from other parties since 2014, how their lands were allegedly regularised and deals offered to them,” Revanth demanded.
He charged the BJP of dividing the nation on religious lines and demolishing various provisions of the Constitution and democratic rights of the people.
“The Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) by AICC leader and MP Rahul Gandhi is aimed at uniting people and saving the country from divisive politics. Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah are worried over the fact that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have the voice of the common man in India,” he said.
Revanth along with party seniors N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Padmavathi Reddy, T Subbarami Reddy, S A Sampath Kumar among others would be participating in the yatra. CLP leader Bhatti Vikiramarka is expected to participate from Thursday.
Revanth slammed both the BJP and the TRS for trying to derive political mileage by terming the September 17 as liberation day and national integration day respectively. “It’s a historic occasion and needs to be celebrated as Independence Day of Telangana. BJP and TRS were not even born when the Congress government brought the army and merged Hyderabad state into the Indian union,” he said.
Revanth also released a poster of Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Revanth said the BJP government at the centre should name the new Parliament building after B R Ambedkar. He said this after balladeer Gadar alon with a delegation met Revanth seeking Telangana Congress MPs support for Ambedkar’s name to the Parliament building. The TPCC chief assured him that they would pass a resolution and sent it to Sonia Gandhi to exert pressure on the Modi-government.
