Team India will be looking to end their ICC trophy drought during the World Cup at home later this year. The schedule of the mega event was announced on Tuesday (June 27) and the hosts announced Rohit SharmaThe leadership is set to play a total of nine league games at nine different venues. A total of 10 cities are hosting World Cup matches and only Hyderabad is not getting an India match.

Apart from the league stage matches, Team India will also play two warm-up matches – against England (in Guwahati on 30 September) and against a qualifying team (in Kerala on 3 October). Around 11 ODIs in a span of 43 days may sound easy to watch but the team will travel a lot during this period. All these 11 ODI matches of the World Cup will be played at 11 different venues unlike other teams which have at least two matches at the same venue.

Once the team reaches Guwahati for the warm-up match against England, the air distance the Blue team has to cover is as follows – Guwahati to Thiruvananthapuram (2506 km), Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai (621 km), Chennai to Delhi (1761 km) ). ), Delhi to Ahmedabad (775 km), Ahmedabad to Pune (518 km), Pune to Dharamsala (1543 km), Dharamsala to Lucknow (748 km), Lucknow to Mumbai (1190 km), Mumbai to Kolkata (1652 km) and Kolkata to Bangalore (1560 km).

The total aerial distance covered in these 11 matches will be 12874 kms. Looking at the schedule, Team India will have to catch a flight every third day. Only twice have they had a break of more than 4 days between two matches – one before the match against England and the other before their last league game against a qualifier team.

A BCCI official said, “In the case of the Indian team, you cannot deny any of the nine associations a chance to watch their stars play. You have to accommodate each member association and hence it is a bit hectic.” Is.” told PTI. Team India is also expected to reach at least the semi-finals which it will play in Mumbai. The aerial distance from Bangalore to Mumbai is 842 km and if the Men in Blue make it to the final, they will have to cover a distance of 441 km to reach Ahmedabad, where the final is scheduled to take place on November 19.

If India reaches the final, it will have to travel a total of 14157 kilometers to play 13 ODIs during the World Cup. No wonder it will be tiring for the players as the conditions in different cities of India will also play a part and the players will have to be up for the challenge if India are to win their first ICC trophy since 2013.
