TDP condemns YSRCP government’s decision regarding online sale of cinema tickets

TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Thursday took strong objection to the YSRCP government’s decision to sell cinema tickets online, thereby interfering with the commercial business of cinemas.

Ramakrishnudu asked what moral authority does the Jagan Reddy regime have regarding the increasing financial burden of cinema tickets on the public. The ruling YSRCP was shedding crocodile tears saying that at present cinema tickets are being sold at double the price. What would the government say about the total price rise that was causing people to suffer?

In a statement here, the TDP leader demanded the YSRCP to explain why it is silent on the increased rates of petrol, diesel, cement, liquor and sand in AP. What was the secret behind Jagan’s interference in cinema ticket rates? With each passing day, new insolvency policies were being brought to penalize the AP people to give a bigger mandate to the YSRCP.

Ramakrishnudu regretted that a hopeless situation existed, Andhra Pradesh was dependent on liquor income to implement its welfare schemes. It was shameful that the Amma Vodi, Cheuta and Asra welfare schemes were legislated and handed over to the Beverages Corporation. Jagan Sarkar’s policy seemed to be that if a father wants his children to get an education, he must drink.

The TDP leader said it would come as no surprise that the government, which today linked Amma Vodi to the sale of liquor, would in future link the sale of ganja with fee reimbursement and scholarships to students. On the other hand, the people of AP suffered huge financial losses due to thoughtless policy on 3 capitals. Apart from making a huge dent in revenue and employment generation, the state had suffered property loss worth lakhs of crores.

Ramakrishnudu termed it as a deviant measure on the part of the YSRCP to pass a resolution in the assembly for the BC census. In 2014 itself, TDP passed such a resolution and sent it to the Centre. Also, the TDP regime passed a resolution of 33.33 per cent reservation for BCs in Parliament and Assembly and 25 per cent of the Union budget for BC sub-schemes.

The TDP leader accused the YSRCP government of using the funds of the 15th Finance Commission in an unconstitutional and unethical manner. Already, Panchayats were suffering a lot due to paucity of funds. The powers of the Panchayat officials and elected representatives were handed over to the village volunteers. Harassment of Panchayats without giving money is condemnable.
