IT Recruitment in India: IT majors TCS, Wipro and Infosys recently announced their third quarter results, mainly posting gains for the time period. The companies also announced that they would continue their hiring drive in FY22, which saw a huge growth in the previous year. The three IT giants hired a record 1.7 lakh employees for 2021. The companies said it was just 31,000 in 2020. The major spike comes to a close after India shifted to digital mode amid the pandemic. The increasing number of attrition is also a significant contributor to the increase in hiring by these companies over the past year.

Infosys Recruitment in FY22

India’s second largest company Infosys on Wednesday said it plans to hire over 55,000 freshers under its Global Graduate Hiring Program for FY12. The announcement came as the company was announcing its results for the quarter ended December 2021. “We continue to prioritize investments in talent acquisition and development and have increased our global graduate recruitment program to over 55,000 for FY22 to support our growth ambitions”, said Infosys Chief Financial Officer Nilanjan Roy The total number of employees as of December 2021 was 2,92,067, as against 2,79,617 in the previous quarter.

Salil Parekh, CEO and MD, Infosys said, “Our talent strategy remains a key focus area marked by efforts to further strengthen employee skills and well-being while nurturing our workforce to meet customer requirements.”

TCS Recruitment in FY22

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced on Wednesday that it would continue its aggressive hiring campaign, but did not give any specifics on the numbers. “Our recruitment intensity will continue, but we don’t have any specific numbers for the coming quarter,” company’s Chief Human Resource Officer Milind Lakkar told the media while announcing TCS’ third quarter results. The IT giant, which is India’s largest software exporter, recently touched a milestone with a workforce of 2,00,000. TCS is the largest company in India in terms of workforce. TCS had earlier said that it would hire 34,000 freshers by March, but that target has already been met. Despite this, the company will continue its hiring process in the January-March quarter.

Wipro Recruitment in FY22

Wipro on Wednesday said it expects to hire around 30,000 freshers in FY13, as the IT services major strives to ensure that supply is not a deterrent in managing a strong demand environment. Wipro said it is poised to induct more than 70 per cent new talent from the campus in FY22 as compared to the previous year. Wipro is looking to hire 30,000 freshers in FY 2013, said Saurabh Govil, President and CHRO, Wipro, adding that the fresher hiring number for FY12 was estimated to be around 17,500.
