Tata Altroz Racer Price Reveal, Gets New Power Train

Tata Motors has finally launched the Altroz Racer in India. They unveiled the first look of the Altroz Racer at the 2023 Auto Expo. This sports version of the Altroz hatchback, which has been on sale in India since 2020, receives a new styling and is equipped with a more powerful engine. The Altroz offers three variants and comes with an introductory price range from Rs. 9.49 lakh to Rs. 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom price).

In terms of appearance, the Altroz Racer maintains the fundamental design blueprint of the standard Altroz but incorporates several fresh design accents. These updates encompass the introduction of dual-tone color schemes, pairing a black hue with either Orange, White, or Grey. Noteworthy additions comprise white stripes adorning the hood and roof, alongside a newly integrated rear spoiler.

Within the cabin, the Altroz Racer showcases a sleek all-black interior theme, highlighted by black seats adorned with white and orange stripes. Complementing this are black dashboard panels, ambient lighting, and accents surrounding the air-con vents and gear console. Boasting modern technology, it integrates a sizable 10.24-inch infotainment system alongside a 7.0-inch digital instrument display. While these enhancements are notable, the fundamental interior layout remains consistent. Noteworthy features encompass ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera system, an electric sunroof, blind spot monitoring, and a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags.

In terms of powertrain, the Altroz Racer will be equipped with the potent 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine sourced from the Nexon, delivering increased power figures of 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. This marks a notable improvement of 10 bhp and 30 Nm compared to the Altroz iTurbo variant. Notably, the Altroz Racer is exclusively available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Positioned as a direct competitor, the Hyundai i20 N-Line also boasts a sportier suspension setup compared to the standard i20 model.
