Chennai: Tamil Nadu The health department said on Sunday that the decline in daily Covid-19 cases continued as 6,120 new infections were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 34,10,882.
According to a medical bulletin, 26 more people have succumbed to the infection, taking the death toll to 37,759.
23,144 people were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 32,51,295 leaving 1,21,828 active infections.
A total of 1,23,537 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of samples tested to 6.25 crore.
Although seeing a declining trend, Chennai and Coimbatore reported most of the new cases with 972 and 911 respectively. Chengalpet at 531 while the rest were spread over other districts.
