Tamil Nadu records over 3,000 new Covid-19 cases, 69 deaths; 46,812 vaccinated | Coimbatore News – Times of India

Chennai: Tamil Nadu On Friday, 3,039 new cases of Kovid-19 and 69 deaths were recorded, taking the total number of cases to 25.13 lakh and the total death toll to 33,322. After discharging 3,411 cases from the state registry, TN had 33,224 patients under treatment.
Meanwhile, vaccination centers were closed in many districts as they did not have stock. There were around 50,000 doses of the vaccine in the state on Friday morning and by evening, the state had vaccinated 46,812 people. “The state is waiting for the next allotment from the Center till Monday, when the vaccination may have to be stopped,” said a senior health official. State Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan met senior health ministry officials and demanded more vaccines.
On Friday, three western districts- Coimbatore, finish and Salem The highest number of cases were reported in the state, although there is a steady decline in cases in each of these districts. While Coimbatore reported 349 new cases, Erode had 230 and Salem.

Barring nine districts, new cases were in double digits in all other districts, and at least 19 of these districts had less than 50 cases. Eight cases were reported in Ramanathapuram, followed by 18 in Dindigul and 19 in Perambalur.
Out of 69 deaths, Tiruppur Eight, Salem and Chennai reported six each and Coimbatore five each. Nine districts reported zero deaths and a dozen of them reported one each.
