On August 1, 2024, the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) issued a red card to Raayan actor Dhanush. The council cited that he received an advance payment for a film from Sri Thenandal Films, but never turned up for the shoot last year. The red card restricted Dhanush from acting in any film projects until the matters were resolved.

Now, as per the reports, Dhanush had a recent meeting with the council. Reportedly, in this meeting, the Raayan actor assured the members of his commitment to clear all the disputes. This reportedly prompted the council to lift the ban on Dhanush for one film only. Dhanush had also reportedly assured the members to complete his contractual obligations. The Raayan actor has also promised to kick-start his project with the Mersal makers. As per the reports, he also agreed to return the advance amount with interest to the Polladhavan makers. Earlier, the association strictly instructed the filmmakers to first take it up with the council before signing up Dhanush for a film.

According to the Hindustan Times report, Dhanush’s next directorial will be headlined by the actor Arun Vijay. The report confirms that the Raayan actor is likely to play an important role in this film as well. As of now, the other important details related to the cast and crew of this film have not been revealed. Raayan, an action crime drama, made around Rs 160 crore at the box office and was Dhanush’s 50th film. The 41-year-old actor is currently busy with his next directorial, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (Why is the moon angry with me?), a romantic comedy. He is producing this film under his banner Wunderbar Productions.

Besides these projects, Dhanush will also collaborate with the actor Prakash Raj for an upcoming project. The Tamil actor talked about it in the pre-release event of the film Raayan, which took place on July 21 night in Hyderabad. During the event, Prakash, who plays an important role in the film, revealed that Dhanush plans to direct a new project starring himself and Nithya Menen as the main leads. The trio last collaborated on Thiruchitrambalam (released as Thiru in Telugu) and this film received positive response from users.
