Tamil actress files police complaint alleging sexual harassment against father-in-law

A supporting actress in Tamil films and television shows has filed a complaint with the police station that her father-in-law sexually assaulted and assaulted her. The actress, who does not wish to be named, lives in Keerungampakkam in Balakrishna Nagar near Mangadu in Chennai and has been married to her husband Suresh Kumar for 17 years. The couple has two daughters.

The actress has now lodged a complaint against her father-in-law and mother-in-law at Mangadu police station, after which both are now absconding. While talking to the media, the actress has said that her in-laws never respected her profession of being an actress and often reprimanded her for it.

She also said that her father-in-law has physically abused her several times in the past and her mother-in-law has supported her. She also reportedly complained to the police several times, but no action was taken, for which she blamed her mother-in-law for being an influential relative in the police department.

She said in her statement that a few days ago, her father-in-law tried to strip her of her clothes and tried to molest her and when she resisted, he hit her several times with a big block of wood. He said that she was seriously injured in the encounter and had to be admitted to the hospital.

The incident resulted in a complaint lodged at the Mangadu police station with the police attempting to question her in-laws, however, both have disappeared and their whereabouts are largely unknown. The complainant is pleading with the police to trace them and get justice.

The actress has appeared in supporting roles in films like Annaatthe and Thupparivalan and serials like Peranabu.
