Speaking to Pinkvilla, the actress recalled her early days and said, “When I was in school, many people looked down on me for wanting to be an actor. People question your financial status and They ask the question ‘what are the parents thinking’. , So there are a lot of social pressures that come in and at least when I started, they were really there.
She added, “But I think no one has really understood that a person can have just a burning desire to achieve something in their life. Especially with women, we always need a definition. There’s a certain path that everyone expects you to follow and I’m really lucky that my parents never put me in that shell.”
Tamanna further said, ‘When I was a little girl, I was a fan of many such wonderful women. Madhuri said, Sridevi Madam, Karisma Kapoor… these were my role models when I started out. All I knew was that I wanted to be like him. I didn’t have a path, and I didn’t know how I was going to get there, but I had a really strong desire to be an artist and being an artist wasn’t something I wanted to be because oh that’s cool Or are these amazing stars doing it.”
The actress added, “But I realized when I was a very young girl, I used to tell my friends at their birthday parties that I want to perform solo, I want to dance and I will knock those guys out The ones I don’t know.” And for a very young kid to take everyone to a party, get everyone dancing, I love it. It was a natural extension of my personality. I took every opportunity whether it was a party or it was an audition I would crack, I want to go out there and give my best. It started from there and the opportunities just kept flowing.”
