The Taliban flag was hoisted over Afghanistan’s Rashtrapati Bhavan on the day the US and the world celebrated the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Saturday’s milestone anniversary comes just weeks after the chaotic US withdrawal from Afghanistan and the return to power of the Taliban, the faction that sheltered the Muslim terrorist group founded by Osama bin Laden that carried out the attacks.

The Taliban flag was hoisted on Friday and can be seen waving at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Kabul on Saturday. The terrorist group also painted its white background flag on the wall of the US embassy building.

America is set to mark the anniversary of 9/11 with commemorations at the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon and a arena near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
