Posting a video of President Ram Nath Kovind paying respects to the captain of the women’s cricket team, Taapsee tweeted: “Just hearing this exhaustingly long introduction of her admiration makes me think she’s really not just a film, but Deserves a series on him.” She said: “Very inspirational.”

The actress has completed shooting for Shabaash Mithu. He also treated his fans to a picture of himself in the film.

Alongside the image, she wrote: “8 ki thi jab kisi ne ek sapna dikhaya tha ki ek din ayega jab cricket sirf gentleman’s game nahi hoga. Humaari bhi ek team hogi, ek pehchaan hogi … ‘Women in Blue’ Aa rahe hai hum … Jald hi … #ShabaashMithu IT’S A FILM WRAP! Get ready to cheer for the World Cup 2022! #WomenInBlue”

In translation, Taapsee’s caption read: “I was eight years old when someone made me dream of the day when cricket would not be just a gentlemen’s game. Women will also have a team, an identity. ‘Women in Blue’ is coming soon. Very soon.”

With the next ICC Women Cricket The World Cup is scheduled to take place in New Zealand in March-April 2022, and with India aiming to make the final (and win the trophy) for the third time under Raj’s captaincy, the biopic could not have happened at a more appropriate time.
