Mumbai: A carefully crafted mix of adventure and emotion, ‘Sweet Karam Coffee’ is the story of three women from the same family who embark on an impulsively arranged road trip. This frees the heroes not only from their daily lives but also from the old expectations placed on them. Starring in different episodes, we witness a tale of transformation where the women of the show rediscover themselves and rekindle their lost zest for life.
Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Krishna Marimuthu and Swathi Raghuraman, ‘Sweet Karam Coffee’ features Lakshmi, Madhu and Shanti. The series will go live on July 6 in Tamil along with dubs in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
“This is the first time that I was directing a show with two other directors and a showrunner. So, despite having three different directors directing different sets of episodes, we were all in complete agreement about how the story progressed with the characters through the series. We personally connected with the ingredients on a deep level and I think Reshma has really cleverly brought all of us together to ensure that we do justice to her vision for Sweet Karam Coffee ,” said Bejoy Nambiar, director of episodes one and eight.

Directing episodes five, six and seven, Krishna Marimuthu said, “The story was everything to me. From beginning to end,[writer and show-runner]Reshma Ghatala’s five-minute talk on the phone about a homey grandmother on a road trip with her daughter-in-law and granddaughter inspired me to do the same. a part of this journey. In times where dark dramas are more in vogue, kudos to Prime Video for supporting a script like Sweet Karam Coffee that appeals to all types of audiences. I take pride in the fact that I am making a consistent debut with each of my projects and it has been truly enriching to share the directorial role with Bejoy Nambiar and Swathi Raghuraman in this series. Making her debut in streaming, the evergreen Lakshmi said, “I have had a long and illustrious career that spans several decades, but my streaming debut with Sweet Karam Coffee will definitely be special. We all should live our life being free-spirited, free-willed and free to speak our mind and my character – Sundari represents all of them in the best possible way. To be able to play a role that is similar to me and my thoughts in many ways is really refreshing. Suitable for audiences of all ages in the family, I believe anyone who watches the series will realize the importance and necessity of living life on one’s own terms and to one’s heart’s content.
Playing the role of Kendra who binds the story, characters and the house together, Madhu said, “Kaveri is a responsible homemaker, who loves her family the most, and takes care of everyone, but somewhere she loses her temper.
