Swain, 66, was arrested here on February 14 for marrying at least 18 women and duping them of lakhs of rupees. Besides this, he was allegedly involved in several other types of frauds inside and outside the state.
Police are trying to trace his properties and associates. During interrogation, Swain insisted that he was innocent and that he had not deceived anyone. He tricked people by presenting himself as a doctor, once a senior official of the Union Health Ministry medical council of india (MCI), police said.
