Modi said he encouraged sustainable lifestyle at COP 26 summit Glasgow Last year with a promise to become a net zero country by 2070.

The Prime Minister said a lot needed to be done to make more energy efficient products, including home appliances.
“Energy saving and production are equally important for sustainability. We need to do a lot more to manufacture more energy-efficient ACs, heaters, geysers and similar appliances here in India.

He said that along with renewable energy, energy storage is a big challenge.
“We have also given great priority to storage capacity. In this year’s budget, we have made provisions for battery swapping policy and interoperability standards.

The Prime Minister said that India’s energy demand is continuously increasing and the country needs to move towards renewable energy.
