Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan Have ‘Relaxed A Little Bit’ After Getting India Cap: Gavaskar

New Delhi: Mumbai Indians star players Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are part of India’s T20 World Cup squad but are yet to show their form in the second leg of IPL 2021 in UAE.

Both Suryakumar and Ishaan are struggling to score runs, which has led to some keyboard warriors on Twitter demanding the ouster of Suryakumar and Kishan from India’s T20 World Cup squad.

Former India cricketer and batting great Sunil Gavaskar gave his opinion on the performance of both the players and explained why the pair has failed to perform consistently in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“I guess it seems to me, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have taken some rest after getting the India cap. They may not have it, but some shots that they are playing – looks like they Trying to play so many big shots just because they are players from India,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports’ show ‘Cricket Connected’.

“Sometimes it happens that you have to give yourself a little time, and you have to choose your shot right. And I think they missed this time, where their shot selection has not been perfect. , and that’s why they came out cheap.”

A few days back, former West Indies batsman Brian Lara slammed the Mumbai Indians selectors for including Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav in the Mumbai squad despite their poor form in IPL 2021.

Lara had reprimanded the selectors, saying that both the batsmen are flopping continuously, but still they are getting preference over other players, who should get a chance to show their talent.
