Surat: Covid pandemic was a blessing in disguise, says CA final topper | Surat News – Times of India

SURAT: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) declared the results of its foundation and final exams on Thursday. Surat’s 19-year-old Radhika Chauthmal Beriwala topped the list of successful candidates in the final exams (new scheme), scoring 640 out of 800 marks.
Altogether 32,888 students registered for the CA final exam (old scheme) and 95,213 for the new scheme.
Talking to TOI, Beriwala said that the pandemic-induced lockdown proved to be a blessing in disguise for her as she could take out more time to study. “With God’s grace and my family’s support, I secured the first rank in CA finals. My parents are happier than me as their dream of seeing me on top of the list came true. I aim to study MBA finance in a reputed institute like the IIM” said Beriwala who completed her BCom last year from the city’s SD Jain college.
Elaborating on why she claimed the lockdown was a blessing for her, she said that she had prepared for the exams under CA Ravi Chhawchharia in Surat who gave her personal guidance, and the forced isolation during lockdown gave her ample time to give more time for study and make multiple revisions. “My advice for the next batch of examinees is to keep studying with fun and confidence. CA studies aren’t actually very tough, it is lengthy and that calls for proper revisions,” she added. Beriwala’s father is a textile businessman while her mother Asha is a homemaker. CA Ravi Chhawchharia told TOI, that for the past three years, Beriwala had been preparing hard for the CA exams. “For the first one-and-half years she took offline classes and the remaining half she studied online,” said Chhawchharia who claimed that Beriwala’s score of 640 is the highest in the country for the CA new scheme.
