Supreme Court issues notice on SIT probe petition on post-poll violence in Bengal

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notices to the Centre, the West Bengal government and the Election Commission of India in response to a petition seeking an SIT probe into the causes of the post-poll violence in West Bengal.
A bench headed by Justice Vineet Saran was hearing a plea by advocate Hari Shankar Jain, seeking a direction to a SIT probe into the post-poll violence.
