Yogi government’s supplementary budget of 7 thousand 301 crores was passed in the Uttar Pradesh assembly. During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a big announcement for the youth. Said that one crore youth would be given free smart phones. Apart from this, an allowance was also announced to the youth preparing for three competitive examinations. The Chief Minister has also increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of government employees from 17% to 28%. About 28 lakh employees and pensioners of the state will get its benefit.

Highlights of government budget

  • 3002 crores will be spent on employment of youth, new schemes of sportspersons.
  • 500 crore has been given to the Information Department. Before the elections, the government will spend a lot on publicity.
  • 200 crore to be paid to sugarcane farmers. However, sugar mills owe Rs 800 crore. In such a situation, it is not clear that how many farmers will the government pay?
  • An additional arrangement of Rs 300 crore has been made to relieve the farmers from the problem of abandoned cattle.
  • A new project worth Rs 209 crore 69 lakh is to be started in Ayodhya.
  • 200 crores has been given for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
  • 100 crores has been given for Bundelkhand Expressway.
  • 50 crores will be spent for Dr. Ambedkar Memorial.
  • 50 crore for Ballia Link Expressway.
  • 40 crores will be spent on the expansion of the route from Ganga to Vishwanath temple in Varanasi.
  • The multipurpose building of Sanskrit Sansthan will be prepared with Rs 9.70 crore.
  • Sanskrit Pandits will be rewarded with Rs 30 lakh.

7176.57 crore burden increased on the government

Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna had earlier told in the House on Wednesday that Rs 6581 crore 41 lakh 55 thousand has been given in the supplementary budget under revenue head. In this budget given in revenue head, the expenditure load of honorarium increase is the highest. At the same time, Rs 720 crore 10 lakh 3 thousand has been given in the capital (construction works) head. In the supplementary budget, the amount of central share from central schemes is Rs 124 crore 94 lakh 12 thousand. After deducting this amount, the burden of Rs 7176 crore 57 lakh 46 thousand will increase on the government’s own treasury due to this supplement. The state government will arrange this amount by meeting the tax targets and reducing the non-essential expenditure.
