Sunny Kaushal recently shared insights into his relationship with his Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba co-star Vikrant Massey, expressing that he sees shades of his brother, Vicky Kaushal, in Vikrant.
Sunny Kaushal, who was last seen in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, recently shared insights into his off-screen bond with co-star Vikrant Massey. In the romantic thriller, Sunny shared the screen with Vikrant Massey and Taapsee Pannu. During a recent interview with Instant Bollywood, Sunny revealed that he saw shades of his brother, Vicky Kaushal, in Vikrant, describing Vikrant as an elder brother figure to him.
Sunny stated, “Vikrant, I see Vicky in him. He’s like an elder brother to me.” He also recalled a conversation with his father, Sham Kaushal, who had worked as an action director on Vikrant’s film Mumbaikar. Sunny shared, “Usko (Vikrant) milke na mujhe teri aur Vicky ki yaad aa gayi (After meeting him, I was reminded of you and Vicky).”
Sunny reflected on how he and Vikrant’s similar upbringing contributed to their bond, saying, “Kahin na kahin hum logon ki upbringing, hum jahan se aaye hain woh na kaafi match karta hai (Somewhere our upbringing, where we have come from, matches a lot).” He added that whenever they exchanged childhood stories, they found striking similarities in their experiences.
Meanwhile, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba was released on Netflix on August 9, 2024. The film, a sequel to the 2021 hit Haseen Dillruba, is directed by Jayprad Desai and produced by Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series Films, with a screenplay by Kanika Dhillon. Following its release, Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to praise the film, particularly the sequel’s ability to elevate the story.
Vicky expressed his admiration for the film, writing, “Taking the twists, turns, romance and romaanch notches up from the first part… whatey mazzedaar watch. Don’t miss it! Congrats team.”
He also praised his brother Sunny’s performance, saying, “@sunsunnykhez You have truly surprised me with your ability to pull off such a twisted character. So tastefully done. I know how excited you were to take up this part and could see you have fun playing it through and through. So proud! Onwards and upwards brother!”
