Sunil Shetty on becoming an actor

Suniel Shetty revealed, “I think for me, my journey, you know, connects to all of this and being young because I, I started off as an actor, not believing that I’m going to get a chance with a South Indian boy who doesn’t speak.” Of course I used to speak Hindi in school but when it comes to my pronunciation I probably managed 40-45 out of 100, it was never very good as we spoke Tulu at home. I never spoke Hindi, not even a word of Hindi, so when I came into the business of cinema, because of my martial arts background, I believed that I was going to be successful like Mr. Bachchan. But then when the results come out, you see box office success, but you have one criticism, you have written perfectly and it is very difficult to tell your wooden reality. We don’t want to take a step back and then decide that you know what, the only way I’m going to be here is if I create an image for me, work on what my strengths are. But there are many people who are working then. Whether the death-defying stunts are worth the risk, the family doesn’t know but go into action every morning, believing that either you’ll come back with a broken bone or you won’t come back at all. It’s a tough job, isn’t it? Being an action hero is a tough job.”
