NEW DELHI: India on Saturday said it is “deeply concerned” about Indian students stranded in the eastern Ukrainian city of sumi and asked firmly both Russia And Ukraine Through multiple channels for immediate ceasefire for their safe exit from the conflict zone.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi (My), said the students have been advised to take safety precautions, stay inside the shelters and avoid unnecessary exposure.
On Friday, he had said that around 700 Indians were stranded in Sumi.
In a tweet on Saturday, Bagchi said, “We are very concerned about the Indian students in Sumy, Ukraine. We have urged the Russian and Ukrainian governments through multiple channels for an immediate ceasefire to create a safe corridor for our students.” Have given.”
