Various student unions under the banner of Jharkhand Youth Association (JYA) called for Jharkhand bandh on Monday demanding 1932-Khatian (land settlement) based employment policy.

JYA’s central coordinator Imam Safi said, “Jharkhand bandh on Monday. We have the support of dozens of student unions. However, schools, medical facilities including ambulances and other emergency services will be kept out of the purview of the bandh. JYA members also took out a procession from Ranchi University to Albert Ekka Chowk on Sunday and appealed to the traders to keep their shops closed.
