Students await clarity as hearing on hijab row continues in Karnataka HC

Even as the Karnataka High Court began its hearing into the hijab row in the state, students await clarity. As of now, students are not allowed to wear religious attire in educational institutions. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has also asked students to abide by the interim order of the court and to remain united.

However, on Thursday, a petitioner had filed public interest litigation asking a full bench of the high court to allow Muslim girls to sport the hijab at least on Fridays (jumma) and during the upcoming month of Ramzan.
