In addition, the $100 billion plan to improve the immigration system includes protection from the deportation of millions of long-lived illegal immigrants to the United States. Biden promised a complete overhaul of the immigration system during his election campaign. Now the Democrats are in a hurry to fulfill this promise. Especially also because at present they have majority in both the houses of Parliament.

Green card backlog increased to 90 lakhs
Green card limit is fixed every year. In such a situation, applicants from a country like India have to wait, from where a large number of people apply for jobs in America. The backlog has increased in recent years. There were 87 lakh applications in the year 2018, which increased to 90 lakh in 2021.
