England suffered an injury ahead of the second Test against India as leading pacer Stuart Broad twisted his right calf during practice at Lord’s here on Tuesday.

According to ESPNcricinfo, “Stuart Broad sprained his right calf during England’s practice at Lord’s and was unable to train with the rest of the team.”

“He will be scanned on Wednesday to determine the extent of his injury.”

However, according to a report in The Guardian, Broad sprained his “right ankle” after slipping “while jogging a light warm-up”.

England are already missing Jofra Archer due to injury, while all-rounder Ben Stokes has taken an indefinite break to focus on mental health.

The second Test starts on Thursday at Lord’s.

The opening Test ended in a draw after the final day was washed out by rain.
